Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on June 19th, 1978. Her father is Dominican and her mother Puerto Rican. Her mother raised her mother who lived in Queens. The family she was born into moved to Dominican Republic at the age of 10, where they'd stay for the rest of seven years. Zoe was able to establish an appreciation for dance when she lived in Dominican Republic. In the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy Zoe took ballet classes along with other forms of dancing. It was a great opportunity for an energetic child. However, it turned out to be also a fortunate precursor for the beginning of her professional life. Zoe and her family emigrated to in the United States with Zoe at 17. Her interest in theatre performance and dance grew. Zoe is not only a movie star but also a star in the motion-picture industry, but has also received praise and admiration from the insiders such as Steven Spielberg and Jerry Bruckheimer as well as actors and actresses including Tom Hanks and Bernie Mac.
